Licensing Requirements

• Resident of Catawba County or surrounding county.
• At least 21 years of age
• Couples must have a stable relationship for at least one year
• Adequate sleeping space
• No substantiated allegations of child neglect or abuse
• Police background and fingerprint check on all adults living in the household
• Financially stable before placing a child in the home
• Fire safety and Environmental or Health inspections
• Medical exam and TB tests for ALL family members
• Completed Home Study conducted by staff
• Signed Agency Agreement
• Pre-service training through Therapeutic Foster Care
• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Defensive Driving
• Medication Administration Training
• In-service training through the year
• Re-licensing conducted bi-annually
